Bio
I earned my B.S. in Economics from Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida, followed by an MBA in Management and a Doctor of Business Administration specializing in Human Resources and Healthcare Administration from Nova Southeastern University. Before entering academia full time, I spent more than 20 years in leadership roles within a Fortune 500 telecommunications company, where I led projects in workforce development, academic training initiatives, e-commerce operations, and technology implementation. I later served as a Dean and Director of Education, overseeing academic programs, faculty development, student support initiatives, and institutional accreditation. My diverse professional experience allows me to bring real-world application and career-focused insight to the classroom. I have been teaching with the University of Arkansas Grantham for 12 years, contributing to a total of 28 years of combined experience in higher education and instructional coaching. I am committed to empowering students to succeed academically, professionally, and personally. Throughout my career in leadership, human resources, and higher education, I have seen how the right guidance can transform a learner’s confidence, mindset, and future. My work focuses on helping students develop strong habits, think strategically about their goals, and recognize the value of their own skills and potential. I believe education is not just about earning grades it is about building character, discipline, and leadership. I use my experience to mentor and coach students to take ownership of their learning, rise above challenges, and become leaders who contribute meaningfully to their communities and professions. My purpose is to help students discover their strengths, elevate their performance, and pursue their goals with clarity and confidence. Teaching at UAG has been one of the most meaningful chapters of my career. Our students bring a unique level of dedication and determination, especially as adult learners balancing school, work, and life. I truly enjoy mentoring and supporting them as they build confidence, overcome challenges, and develop as leaders. Helping students grow into their full potential is what makes teaching here so rewarding.
