More Benefits for Heroes

You served our country and University of Arkansas Grantham is honored to provide you with a quality education that gives you more for your military aid. UA Grantham accepts and is knowledgeable about the many various forms of military education benefits available to service members, veterans and their families. Such as:

    • Military Tuition Assistance
    • GI Bill®
    • MyCAA
    • UA Grantham Heroes Program
    • Military Experience Credits

Military Tuition Assistance (TA)

University of Arkansas Grantham is approved by all U.S. military branches for TA. Accessing and applying your military TA is a process that can take several weeks, so it’s best to get started as soon as possible.

Beyond TA

UA Grantham works with you to bridge the gap until your TA benefit is replenished. UA Grantham’s Commander Everett Alvarez, Jr. Resilience Grant is available to military students using TA. It provides up to $1,000 annually to help you stay on track when your TA runs out. You’ll be able to continue with your studies without having to tap into GI Bill® benefits or use other forms of military financial assistance. For more information, contact your Student Advisor.

GI Bill®

If you served on active duty, you might be eligible for education benefits offered by the Department of Veterans Affairs. For example, the Post 9/11 GI Bill® provides financial support for educational and housing expenses to individuals with at least 90 days of aggregate service after September 10, 2001, or individuals discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days. You must have received an honorable discharge to be eligible for the Post 9/11 GI Bill®.

GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). More information about education benefits offered by VA is available at the official U.S. government Web site at https://www.benefits.va.gov/gibill.

MyCAA Assistance

The Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA) Program was established to support military spouses as they pursue education, training, licensing, credentialing and employment in their careers. When MyCAA is used with UA Grantham’s Heroes Program, the benefits we can offer are even greater. As a military spouse, you gain low out-of-pocket costs while earning your college degree or training. Military spouses can receive up to $4,000 in tuition assistance through the MyCAA program.

MyCAA Requirements

See if you are eligible to receive military spouse tuition assistance by going to the MyCAA website. They have been known to adjust the requirements of the scholarship, so it’s important to look at the guidelines. If you have further questions, call a Military OneSource consultant at (800) 342-9647.

More from Military Experience

University of Arkansas Grantham is one of the few online colleges for military and veterans that will evaluate the experience you already have for comparable course credit at no cost. By maximizing military training, life experience and prior college coursework, you can shorten your path to graduation by up to 75% and avoid taking unnecessary courses. To get the credit evaluation process started, order your transcripts using the appropriate military branch link below.

Please note: Many DoD websites have security certificates that most personal computers will not automatically accept. To access the links below, you will likely be prompted to manually accept their security certificates.

UA Grantham also accepts exams through the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES) program for review of transfer credit eligibility. These exams are distributed through two different programs funded by DANTES: The College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) and DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST). Combined, there are over 70 different subject students can test over, and the initial test if at no cost through DANTES.
