Grantham University is now University of Arkansas Grantham
On Nov. 1, 2021, Grantham University joined the University of Arkansas System and officially became the University of Arkansas Grantham. UA Grantham is now a stronger institution with greater ability to serve the thousands of students already enrolled in more than 40 fully-online degree and certificate programs.
Since its founding in 1951, Grantham has sought to enable access to education for adult learners. Now part of the University of Arkansas System, UA Grantham is better-positioned to grow the number of quality, affordable, professionally-relevant programs it offers to learners in Arkansas, across the country, and around the world.
The UA System has a tradition of excellence that includes the state’s 1871 flagship, land-grant research university; Arkansas’s premier institution for medical education, treatment and research; a major metropolitan university; an 1890 land-grant university; two regional universities serving southern and western Arkansas; seven community colleges; two schools of law; a presidential school; a residential math and science high school; a 100% online university and divisions of agriculture, archeology and criminal justice. The UA System enrolls more than 70,000 students, employs over 28,000 and has a total budget of more than $4 billion. Visit uasys.edu for more information.
Diplomas, transcripts, and student records for graduates and former students of Grantham University will continue to be available from the new University of Arkansas Grantham. Beginning in January 2022, new graduates receive University of Arkansas Grantham diplomas and certificates.
UA Grantham remains committed to its mission of providing high-quality online learning opportunities; the Grantham degree, already a respected credential, will now be backed by the strong reputation of Arkansas’s premiere higher education system.
UA System Open Checkbook
In compliance with Arkansas Code 6-61-137, the University of Arkansas System has created a website to present a database of unaudited expenditure data. This database is intended to provide transparency to Arkansas citizens and constituents of the UA System's stewardship of public resources. To find more information about Open Checkbook, and to access information for UA Grantham, go to https://uasys.edu/system-office/open-checkbook/Flexible. Affordable. Designed for You.
Everything we do is done with a focus on minimizing obstacles and maximizing quality learning for our students. UA Grantham’s 100% online degree programs are designed for adult learners. Our eight-week classes are flexible and affordable: we offer one of the lowest tuitions in the nation1, plus generous credit transfers and even lower tuition for first responders, veterans, and military families.
At UA Grantham, we’re on a mission to make education more accessible, which is why all new and returning students who enroll in a degree program receive a new Lenovo laptop—at no additional cost.

A History of Educational Services
As part of the traditional college and university movement of the late 20th Century, the school that would become University of Arkansas Grantham was founded in 1951 with a main campus in Southern California. As interest in our degree programs grew beyond campus boundaries, the college developed distance-education programs to serve a geographically dispersed student body.
