Welcome to the College of Health Professions

Brina Hollis Brina Hollis, Ph.D.
Director, College of Health Professions

Healthcare depends on knowledgeable professionals who can manage information, support effective operations, and help organizations respond to the needs of patients and communities. The College of Health Professions (CoHP) at the University of Arkansas Grantham prepares students for these responsibilities through accessible, career focused education in healthcare administration, health information management, medical coding and billing, and medical administrative services.

Our students come to us with different backgrounds and goals. Some are entering the healthcare field for the first time, while others are building on professional experience or preparing to take the next step in their careers. Many are balancing their education with work and family responsibilities. We recognize these commitments and strive to provide a learning experience that helps students develop professionally while working toward their educational goals.

The healthcare industry continues to change as organizations respond to advances in technology, evolving regulations, growing volumes of health information, and increasing expectations for quality and efficiency. These developments shape the knowledge and skills healthcare professionals need. Within CoHP, we are focused on keeping our programs relevant to these changes and helping students connect what they learn to the responsibilities they may encounter in the workplace.

As Director, I want the College of Health Professions to remain responsive to the needs of students, employers, and the broader healthcare community. This means evaluating our curriculum, exploring opportunities to incorporate emerging technologies and industry practices, and working with instructors and healthcare professionals to strengthen the connection between education and practice. Our goal is to prepare graduates who can think critically, communicate effectively, act ethically, and contribute meaningfully to their organizations.

The future of the college depends on our ability to listen, adapt, and continue improving. Through engagement with our advisory board, industry professionals, and other stakeholders, we will continue identifying opportunities to strengthen our programs and respond to changes in the healthcare workforce.

I am proud of the work taking place within the College of Health Professions and the opportunities our programs provide to students pursuing their professional goals. I invite you to explore our offerings and discover how CoHP can support your next step in healthcare.
