Thank you for letting us be part of your education journey.
After graduation, I plan to dedicate time to giving back more than ever.My mom taught me to prioritize family, and my brother, who has autism and ADHD, taught me patience and love. Helping raise him has opened my heart and mind to what I can do to help those with disabilities. My capstone project, a self-folding clothes machine, was inspired by him as I know first-hand what he struggles with. I want to use my Electronics Engineering degree to make assistive tech to better the lives of individuals with mental/physical disabilities. I also volunteered in high school (c. 2020) in Animal Advocacy and Do Your Part clubs where we'd provide resources to shelters and have beach clean-ups. After graduation, I plan to dedicate time to giving back more than ever.Valerie R., BS in Electronics Engineering Technology
UA Grantham made a way for me to continue working and serving others without having to give up my goals of continuing my education.Taking the non-tradtional route of college was something that always appealed to me. As someone who is very active in their church, I travel often. UA Grantham made a way for me to continue working and serving others through my church, without having to give up my goals of continuing my education.Lila P., BA in Criminal Justice
My adventure at Grantham was not only one of education, but one of determination. My adventure at Grantham was not only one of education, but one of determination. I was able to conquer my classes while maintaining a full time job as a Lead Systems Engineer, and balance my life around my five children at the same time. I was inspired by my wife going back to school to finish her degree, and used that motivation so show my family and coworkers that anything is possible if you are willing to push yourself day in and out.Eric K., BBA in Business Administration - Procurement and Contract Management Concentration

I love being a nurse as much as I love teaching which I have been at a local community college despite offers from private, higher paying schools.I love being a nurse as much as I love teaching which I have been at a local community college despite offers from private, higher paying schools. Having been a product of subsidized matriculation, impacted by educational determinants, I found UA Grantham to provide the same opportunity through their HEROES program. It takes more than emotional investment to be a Nurse Educator, it requires an empowered foundation, which is what this program afforded me. The expertise, mentorship, supportive learning environment, innovative teaching approaches, and committed professors will help me reach my professional goal, which is to one day be instrumental in making a difference not only in of field nursing education but in the profession as a whole.Ethan V., MSN in Nursing Education

My father was a Marine, and I wanted nothing more than to follow in his footsteps. I was raised on selfless service and sacrifice. I knew my calling. I had a successful Marine Corps career of 8 years and then joined the Army National Guard of Oklahoma, where I continued to serve not only my country but my local community as well. It is a great privilege to serve my community and help those in need, whatever the case may be. My greatest passion is helping others. I have held many positions in my career and have been fortunate to meet so many amazing people. Each one of those people is responsible for making me who I am today. I have been blessed beyond measure.Angela S., BBA in Business Administration - Human Resource Management Concentration
I've always told my three boys to finish what they start, whether it's work or school.About 10 years ago, I started studying at Grantham University for my graduate degree, but life got in the way and I had to stop going to school. My kids were young and I needed to focus on taking care of my family and my job. I've always told my three boys to finish what they start, whether it's work or school. But I realized I was being a bit of a hypocrite because I had started a master's degree myself and never finished it. Last year, when my oldest son began college, it hit me that I needed to finally complete what I had started. It was a tough journey, but it was important for me to show my kids what it means to be resilient and persistent. I wouldn't trade this experience for anything in the world.Johnny B., MS in Information Management Technology
In August of 2022 I walked into the Rock Island County Historical Society for a visit and a volunteer mentioned they were looking for some younger people to volunteer there and help the society grow. In August of 2022 I walked into the Rock Island County Historical Society for a visit and a volunteer mentioned they were looking for some younger people to volunteer there and help the society grow. A few weeks later I began volunteering at the historical society by primarily running their social media presence. I took an interest in the business aspect of the place and have offered to help rewrite some of their dated policies that they have as well as handled their accounting for a brief period. The increased social media presence has been credited to getting the word out about the existence of the society within the local community and it landed us a donation of an iconic item from an old bridge in the area from the contractors.Joshua R., BBA in Business Administration - Human Resource Management Concentration
