Going to school while serving on active duty may seem like a daunting if not impossible task. But at University of Arkansas Grantham, higher education is attainable even while you actively serve. How? You have the flexibility to work toward your degree as it fits with your schedule. To accommodate the active duty lifestyle, we offer:
Active duty service members are eligible for UA Grantham’s Heroes Program, which aims to lower education costs for military members. As part of the Heroes Program, you’ll receive a discounted tuition rate of $250 per credit hour, complimentary textbooks and waived software and technology fees.
UA Grantham is approved by all U.S. military branches for TA, meaning all active duty service members are able to use their TA to attend. Accessing and applying your military TA is a process that can take up to four weeks, so it’s best to get started as soon as possible.
Your TA benefit will cover some or most of your education costs, but it may not cover all of them. So what happens when your TA runs out? You have options to keep yourself enrolled in classes, including military grants. UA Grantham’s Heroes Program Active Duty Bridge Scholarship is available to all eligible military students using TA. At up to $1,000 annually per student, this scholarship helps bridge the gap until your benefits are replenished. You’ll be able to continue with your studies without having to tap into GI Bill® benefits or use other forms of military financial assistance. For more information, contact your Student Advisor.
GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). More information about education benefits offered by VA is available at the official U.S. government Web site at https://www.benefits.va.gov/gibill.
