It’s Official – Grantham Holds Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for New Campus

By University of Arkansas Grantham

Lenexa, Kan. — June 5, 2014 — As famous fictional Kansan Dorothy Gale once said as she clicked her heels, “there’s no place like home.” This is a sentiment that Grantham University’s 400 plus staff members and the Lenexa Chamber of Commerce celebrated Wednesday, June 4, as they held the ribbon cutting ceremony for Grantham’s new main campus in Lenexa’s Southlake Corporate Park.

Grantham relocated to Kansas from the Kansas City Northland’s Zona Rosa development in late March. Its new location is LEED certified and has ample room to meet the projected staff and faculty additions expected within the next two years.

“Kansas, Johnson County, The City of Lenexa and the Lenexa Chamber of Commerce have gone out of their way to help Grantham feel at home in our new location,” said University president, Joseph McGrath. “This transition wouldn’t have gone so smoothly without the help of the Chamber and Mayor Boehm. We’ve only been residents of Kansas for a short while, but we know we’ve made the right decision for our team.”

Mayor Boehm spoke at the ceremony, which was followed by the ceremonial ribbon cutting, refreshments, and tours of the new main campus.

The Kansas City area first welcomed Grantham University following Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Its former campus in Slidell, Louisiana was completely destroyed in the storm. The Greater Metropolitan area helped Grantham’s staff find shelter, food, clothing and medical assistance since many moved to the area with very few belongings. The Kansas City area has been Grantham’s home away from home ever since.

Grantham University has been helping working adults around the world achieve their educational goals for more than 63 years. To learn more about Grantham and its accredited online degrees and certificate programs, visit: uagrantham.edu.
