Bachelor of Business Administration graduate Jennifer Scott, Summa Cum Laude and UA Grantham Class of 2024, shares her UA Grantham educational journey story and offers some advice to new and future UA Grantham students.

Was there an instructor or faculty member who influenced or impacted your time at UA Grantham?

All my instructors have been excellent at UA Grantham, but Professor Ray Fullard stood apart with his enthusiasm and enjoyment in the Leadership Lessons from Great Commanders course. He was very engaged in instruction and provided valuable feedback. He made the course exciting, while teaching the fundamentals of leadership. I enjoyed his videos and supplemental materials, which provided a constructive collaboration between military maneuvers and leadership traits. I also want to shout out to Professor Elhan Durguti. Both classes I took with him provided beneficial material for my degree. He engaged with the students, and ensured the feedback was specific and worthwhile. I know it must get difficult to provide various responses when there are multiple students, but he was able to do it. Furthermore, he was a tremendous help while I was completing my very extensive business plan. Thanks to both!

Did anyone from Student Support help or guide you along your educational journey at UA Grantham?

I remember talking with Summer Macaluso over two years ago, as we were trying to get my transcripts to complete a degree audit. She was patient throughout the process and ensured we had an open line of communication. She kept me informed of what to expect and once I started classes, she would send a text or email encouraging me. I could always go to her with any concerns, and she always made me feel better. She inquired about the classes I would like to take, and she made sure I was adequately prepared for everything. The process was seamless, the books ordered without delay. She took care of everything so that I could focus on successfully completing my courses. It can be difficult doing a completely virtual degree, but Summer made sure I felt connected and supported. Thank you.

What would you tell new UA Grantham students?

You can do it! Even when it gets overwhelming and you worry that you will not be able to complete all the assignments, somehow or other, you pull it off. My advice to other students would be to use time wisely. Get into a schedule where you can work on homework daily, so it will not be as overwhelming to complete it. Don’t wait until the last minute. Remember that your instructors have traveled this road before, so stay in contact with them if you are struggling. One last thing, while you are in the middle of it, it can be crushing, and you may feel that you are unable to do another essay but take one week at a time and do not think about the next week. Before you know it, the eight weeks are up, and you are ready for the next set. Good luck!
